Travelling to a new country can be a stressful experience. We are here to help from the time you step out of the plane and set foot in Alberta. CCIS welcomes temporary foreign workers at the Calgary International Airport.
Workers are provided with a welcome kit which includes some basic supplies. They are also provided with information about their rights and responsibilities, services for newcomers, and community resources. Later, they will be provided services by CCIS and its local centers and partners in Southern Alberta based on needs assessment.
We can help! If you are an employer recruiting foreign workers, or a foreign worker bound to Calgary International Airport, please contact us before the scheduled flight. CCIS has its own office at the arrival area for its airport reception program. The program has been running for the past 25 years assisting refugees, Ukrainians, and foreign workers the moment they first set foot in Canada.
Support in Canada
In Canada, the rights of all workers are protected by law. It is important that you understand your rights while you are in Canada as a temporary foreign worker. Before you can work, it is a requirement to apply for your Social Insurance Number. Find out here how to get your SIN.
